Riding on Insulin Set to Hit the Slopes at Snow Summit
Non-Profit Offers a Day on the Mountain for Children Living with Diabetes
Big Bear Lake, CA (January 9, 2014) -- Big Bear Mountain Resorts has announced that Riding on Insulin will return to Snow Summit this Saturday, January 11, for the second consecutive year. Riding on Insulin’s Ski and Snowboard Program is held in only four countries around the world, and provides a day on the slopes for children living with type 1 diabetes.
“We are thrilled that Riding on Insulin is returning to Snow Summit this year,” said Chris Riddle, Vice President of Marketing for Big Bear Mountain Resorts. “Riding on Insulin is an incredible organization, and we are so honored that they have again chosen Snow Summit to host this one-of-a-kind event. While other resorts are seeing snow shortages, colder temperatures here in Big Bear and ongoing snowmaking at both resorts allows us to offer some of the best conditions in California, just in time for this exciting weekend.”
Riding on Insulin is an organization that connects the global diabetes community through shared experiences and participation in action sports. Riding on Insulin’s Ski and Snowboard program features a unique 1-½ day camp open to kids ages 7-17 living with type 1 diabetes, as well as their families.
The program will begin Friday, January 10 at Snow Summit with an orientation session for families and volunteers. The event itself is scheduled to take place all day Saturday, January 11 at Snow Summit.
