Silver stars Silver Skier: Lou Batori At 100 years old Lou isn’t just skiing – he’s ski racing. Check out this video profile that includes footage of him hitting the race course. Silver Shredder: Julian Vogt At 78 years old, in 1989, Julian Vogt, who had taught skiing for twenty years, switched to snowboarding for a bit of a challenge. Get Involved With A program Bumps for Boomers Bumps for Boomers is a ski lesson program in Aspen, CO that focuses exclusively on teaching seniors mogul and powder skiing. Bumps for Boomers instructors refresh or introduce you to mogul and powder skiing with techniques that emphasize balance, control and safety over speed, minimizing fatigue and impact on the back and knees. Read more about the Bumps for Boomers program. The Over the Hill Gang The Over the Hill Gang is a vacation club with a focus on winter sports that’s been around for over 30 years. Membership includes deep group senior discounts at US and Canadian ski areas. You’ll receive newsletters and emails to keep you abreast of trips and tips. It also offers a great community and camaraderie amidst thousands of skiers 50+. 70+ Ski Club The 70+ Ski Club was founded by Lloyd Lambert at age 76 when he saw seniors quitting skiing because they had no one to ski with or couldn’t afford it anymore! The group provides its 3000+ members with discounts, trips and group events to ski destinations around the world, and a newsletter to inform and inspire. The only requirements? You have to be 70+ years of age and have a love for the snow. Get more information and apply for membership online.
